ABOUT
Ceramicist based in Manchester.
Frida Cooper is a ceramicist working from a small studio in Manchester, UK, producing hand-thrown and handmade stoneware pots. With a longstanding fascination for design, functionality, and the role of objects in everyday life, Frida creates minimal, utilitarian ceramics intended for daily use.

Their work centres around the idea of bringing people together, making functional pieces for the table that celebrate the rituals of eating, drinking, and sharing good company. Using natural glazes and simple, honest forms, they often leave areas of bare clay exposed, highlighting the raw beauty and tactile quality of the material.

Each piece is thoughtfully made to be lived with and enjoyed, an invitation to slow down, enjoy small moments, and find beauty in the everyday.
Frida came to ceramics in 2019, drawn by the quiet rhythm of working with clay and the way form can speak to function. Since then, she has collaborated with chefs, restaurants, and clients to create objects and tableware that elevate the experience of food, celebrating the connection between material, process, and the act of sharing a meal.
Her practice explores the dialogue between ceramics and food, where texture, weight, and shape become part of the sensory language of dining. Each piece is considered, made to be held and used.

Frida also hosts workshops and events that offer space for making, spaces where people can learn, connect, and explore through clay. These gatherings are as much about process as they are about community, creativity, and care.
Alongside her collaborative work, Frida creates a core collection of functional wares, simple, everyday pieces that bring warmth and intention into the home.
